Founded in 2023, Healing Simply saw an opportunity to help children and families across the Wasatch Front in a unique way. Our vision is to create an experience that enables children and families to disconnect from the hectic world around us, get back to nature, reconnect with loved ones, and explore fulfilling career training opportunities.
Healing Simply is a nonprofit whose purpose is to connect nature based therapeutic experiences for under-resourced communities through eco-therapy and equine-assisted services.
Our goal is to be the catalyst for change to help each person achieve their optimal physical and emotional health.
Our Equine therapy program is comprised of four components; The Client, The Licensed Mental Health Professional, The Horse, and The Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning. The team of professionals determine how equine interactions, herd behavior, and the horse & human bond can all work together to enhance an individualized treatment plan that aligns with the client's goals of improving behavioral and emotional health & wellness.
Horses are considered to be a "mirror to your soul" and there is empirical data that supports the physiological and mental health benefits of grooming, building trust, and working with these sentient beings.
Healing Simply was founded in 2023 by Greg & Brittany Randall who saw an opportunity to enhance therapeutic work and healing through green space and equine assisted therapy.
Brittany is an accomplished Children's Trauma Therapist & LCSW who specializes in numerous therapeutic modalities. Brittany has been a social worker at heart from the time she was a young girl and is now focused on creating a better life for children and families in Utah.
Greg is a people-first executive with decades of leadership and operations experience. He is a certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning and believes there's not a heart that can't be healed through the power of a horse.
In partnership with Touchstone Therapy Center, we have a strong foundation that will enable us to bring experts in addiction, attachment, regulation, competency, and other therapeutic modalities to our team with decades of experienced therapists.
We take a holistic approach to mental health, addressing not only the symptoms but also the underlying causes and contributing factors to strengthen individuals and families.
Born in 2014, Henry is a buckskin quarter-horse gelding who stands 16.1hh tall and weighs 1100lbs. Henry is as sweet and loving as they come. He was our first horse and loves all animals, and people, and has the ability to allow people to connect easily and deeply with him.
Born in 2014, Bane is a grullo draft cross gelding who stands 15.3hh tall and weighs 1200lbs. Bane is still in training as he can be nervous around new people but has a kind heart and willingness to learn. He is in his therapy horse training journey to be able to help those with complex diagnoses and has brought structure and leadership to the herd.
Born in 2012, Ozzy is a grey quarter-horse gelding who stands at 14.3hh tall and weighs 970lbs. He is very sweet, works well with children, and has a wonderful demeanor. He came to us with a high level of anxiety and has since grown into a more confident and calm horse with greater self-efficacy.
Born in 2017, Sammy is a sorrel Morgan gelding who stands 16.2hh tall and weighs 1150lbs. Sammy has a very funny and goofy personality and loves people. He is the "bothersome brother" of the crew and loves to annoy and instigate play within the herd. Sammy works very well with children and is patient and kind.
Born in 2018 and acquired specifically for our clients who are new to horses and may be intimidated at first by the big boys, we have the sweetest mini donkeys who can help build confidence and learn the basics of safe horsemanship.
Mocha, Scout, & Spitty Kitty keep order at our farm and if you know barn cats, you know they are the ones who really run the show :)
Baby goats are always a hit with our clients and bring happiness and silliness to our program. Sometimes we all just need a space to watch them enjoy the simplicity of life through play.
Spending time with birds can reduce stress, and anxiety, and boost mood while increasing mindfulness and presence. Our chickens, ducks, and geese provide nutritious eggs while adding mental health benefits as well.
